B1US13AXE, Feb. 26. Six drifting British type of elcctric miues are threateniug shipping insidc the Grcat Barrier reef. The Xaviga tion Department lms radioed a waming to all ships to keep a sharp lookout for the mincs and the lloyal Australiqn Xavy Jias ordcred a flotilla to locate and destroy them. Xavy experts believe that the mincs come from iiolds that the Eoyal Xavy and lloyal Aus tralian Xavy Jaid oi! the Queenslaud coast during the war and that they broke away from coutrolled areas dur ing the recent cyelone. The frcighloi Aiundalla narrowlv avoi,ded oue at the entrance to Alourilyan harbour last evening. Two otliers are 16 miles apart betwceu Gooktown'and Cai'rns. Thrco tnore, all reported by coastal ships, are off I-Iiuchenbrook, Cooktovn and Southbrook Island rcspectively.
