They took place on the plough which, though not fast, was in first-class order. Langue d'Or an'cl Broielield wero riddon by A. U. Waddell aud V. J. Soll ars, who will ride theni- at Opaki, and Arco was riddep. by W. J. Broughtou. Tliey galloped a bit over a niile and Ihe pace early was sound at just under 1-1 to the furlong. Laugue d'Or trailed the other two to the lioiue tuni and theu went up 011 the iiiiiei- to be with theni and goiug easily at- Ihe finish. ' Tliey were limed to run tlie first 11 vu in 1.7 and they were lionie the last throe iu •10 to ooniplete in 1.47. It was a very attractive trial. Imperial, with the stable appreiilice, D. Collins, in the saddle, galloped seven very smoothly, and he was home ell'ortlessly in 39 3-5, to complete in 1.31 3-5. Theiolyn (A. Bowness) and Flying Orders (>S. Waddell) were home in 42 to put livq behind in 1.3. They were under restraiut all the way. Gay Stroller (>S. Waddell) was exercised onee round and then speeded u]i to run six furlongs in .1.21 2-5 — time he could have improved upon. Flying Ace and Persuade, both Jooking lit, were let oll' with steady pace work. Emergc (It. P. Stevess) and Tula (It. Haunders), from the same stable were under a liold over six furlongs in 1.27. Roekamii (Aitken) and Yaudra (Jenkins), at'ter ruuniiig the first half-mile in just over "52, were home in 41, to complete seven in 1.33 2-»5. It was uice work. Voltaic was 'givcn pace work and Old Dooley sprinted six furlongs. Roto Parera Jumped Well Roto Parera (M. Andrews) and Itiuk (A. AVaddell) were schooled over four hurdles. Rink, on the outer, outjumped Itoto Parera at the first but when Roto Parera -settled down he gave a first-rate exhibition of fast jnmping. Additional riding engagenients announeed for Opald include: W. J. Broughtou, Yasda, Amuri, Howe, Tara Ball, Gyration; F. Bnchanan, Havildar; Waddell, Happy Belle, Flying Orders, tron Duke; and A. G.
