COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

— . -4P GATHERING AT OPIKI Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Phillips entertained a number of friends at their home at Opiki on a recent evening, the occasion being the coming of age of their second son, Colin. A* most delightful evening was spent in games, competitions and dancing. The usual speeches were made and the toast to the guest of honour was proposed with musical honours. Mr. Phillips handed over the key of the door to the singing of "Twenty-one Today" by the gathering. A delightful s 'pper was provided and the cake with its twenty-one candles was arranged in the place of honour on the table, and was duly cut by Colin and handed among the guests. Visitors were present from Hawera, Palmerston North, Shannon and Tokomaru, as well as a number of local friends.
