NEW YOPuK, Feb. 25. Starving peasaiits in- Moldavia are 'bartering their farms for a sack of corn, according to the Herald-Trihune correspondent, Mr. Seymour Freidin, v/ho has just returned from the stricken areas. He says scores of people afe dropping dead daily and autopsies disclose quantities of earth and charcoal in their stomachs. Bitter cold and unnsually heavy snows are adding to what the correspondent descnbes as uilbelievahle misery. Allied military doctors say epidemics are imminent and predict that 5,000,000 people may be affected.
