KENNY — PARSONS . A very pretty rainbow wedding was Solemnised on Wednesday, February 5, at St. Mary's Angliegn Church, Levin, between Melva Alys, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs'. J. M. Parsons, Bath Street, Levin, and Bernard H. Kenny, seeond son of the late Mr. Kenny an& Mrs. S. Mark, of Blenheim. The Rev. G. B. Stote-Blandy officiated aird Mr. G. H. Sorenson played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in ivpry satin cut on elassical lines with a silk lace sealloped yolk and long buttoned waistline. Her full skirt fell into a long sealloped oval train wich matching sealloped hem. The train and dress were embroidered with silver sequins which had been worn on her mother's bridal gown. Her full length yeil of silk net (a family heirloom and lent by a cousin at Wanganui), was also beautifully embroidered with silver. This was formed into a halo with orange blossom. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of gladioli, roses and mandavillia with touches of maidenhair fern. In attendance on the bride were two bridesmaids g,nd one flower girl who were all gowned in self patterned bridal satin, Miss Marjory Milnes, Levin, friend of the pride (chief) in pastel blue, Marie Haymes, of Wellington (cousin of the bride) , in shell pink and Pamela Elderton of Levin, in turquoise. They carried beautiful matching shower bouquets. The f rocks were cut on similar lines to that of the bridal gown with low buttoned waist-lines and neart-shaped neck-lines with rucked bodices and shoulders, three-quarter sleeves, and frills from the back of the shoulder to the hem of the very full skirts. Their Juliet caps of matching satin and sequins were faggoted and made by the chief bridesmaid. The bridesmaids wore gold heartshaped pendants and the flower giri a gold bangle, gifts of the bridegroom. The church was tastefully decorated by friends "of the bride. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. J. c. Parsons, brother of the bride, and those of groomsman by Mr. A. Kenny, brother of the groom. The ushers at the church were Messrs H. E. Cottle, Ihakara, and W. Robertson, Blenheim. During the signing of the register, a much appreciated solo was sung by Miss Margaret Irving. As ihe bridal couple left the church Ihe bride was presented with a iu^ky horseshoe by Mascer John Elderton, a godson of the bride and groom. The reception was held in Messrs. A. L. Williams' rooms where Mr. and Mrs. Parsons, assisted by Mrs. Mark, welcomed the guests. The bride's mother was attired in a dusky pink suit appliqued in black and black accessories, matching hat with feather mount and shoulder spray to tone. The groom's mother wore a grey silk crepe j frock with black accessories and red shoulder spray. The usual toasts were honoured, the toastmaster being Mr. V. Cottle, Te Horo, who performed the same duties at the bride's parents' wedding 25 years ago. Musical honours were played by Mr. G. H. Soren-r son. The happy couple left by car for an extended honeymoon of the North and South Islands, the bride travelling in a powder blue beaded suit and matching blue fcoque with feather mount and black accessories. Their future home will be in Blenheim.
