CORSO CLOTHES DRIVE
The Mayoress (Mrs. H. B. Burdekin) and members of the CORSO committee desire to express their warmest thanks to the residents of Levin for the excellent response to the appeal for clothes for China. Tl%e collection, which was made on Saturday last, resulted in a substantial number of garments of various kinds being made available, of which some three hundred garments have already been packed to be forwarded on for shipment overseas. A certain number of the garments require mending and attention before they are ready for packing, and an invitation is extended to any ladies willing to assist to join the sewing circle which meets every Friday at 2 p.m. in the R.S.A. rooms, under the supervision of Mfs. Keedwell. The clothes drive was organised by Mr. H. L. Jenkins (town clerk) and Mr. W. Benfell (Scoutmaster) . Thanks are also due to Mrs. F. Chainey and her Girl Guides and Mr. Harrison and the Boy Scouts for the actual collecting work, and aiso to those citizens who so kindly lent and drove their cars.
