LEVIN CROQUET CLUB

PLAY IN COMPETITIONS A pleasant afternoon was recently spent at the lawns on the occasion of honorary members' .day. Competitions were enjoyed by .the visitors and a dainty afternoon tea' was served by the hostesses. Members of the club journeyed to Palmerston North to defend the inter-club banher. Levin beat .Oroua and Takaro, but lost .to Manawatu. The Brown Buttons are eagerly, contested each week and the .thir.d round is now in progress. The Kirk, Walker and Sherwood Cup matches are nearing completion. A gala day is arranged for February 26. This should prove an interesting afternoon, as members are very busy preparing many attractive articles .for sale. The specialty for the afternoon is the club's usual attractive and tasty afternoon tea.
