OTAKI'S MONTHLY MEETING The February meeting of the Otaki Women's Institute was held in the Anglican Hall recently. Mrs. Lumley presided over a fair attendance. The meeting opened with che singing of tlre insritute song and the president then welcomed all members and visitors. Business was discussed and it was. arranged to hold a • garden party at Mrs. H. Taylor's on Saturday, February 22, the proceeds to go towards parcels for Britain. The singing circle is to meet again this month at Mrs. Synnott's home. Grateful letters from England for the parcels sent by the institute were read by Mrs. Mould. Mrs. 1 McConville also read a letter from | China, thanking the instivute for I the warm woollies sent some time iago. A further sum of £1 3s was collected for the parcel fund. the afternoon an enjoyabie i elocutionary item was given by | Mrs. McConville. Afternoon tea ' was then served by the hostesses, ; Mesdames Calwell, Clark, Cook, ! Tooby and Miss Brown.
