FRENCH FLIGHTS OVER INDIA
STRICTER CONTROL TO OPERATE Received Wednesday, 11 a.m. NEW DELHI, Feb. 18. The leader of the Interim Government, Pandit Nehru, in the Central Legislative Assembly, stated that the Indian Government would exercise stricter control over French aircraft, flying across India to Indo-China. The Government was already strictly limiting such flights, and very few French planes crossing to Indo-China had been the combat types. Pandit Nehru, asked whether the Government would stop French i aircraft or the army in Indo-China I obtaining supplies from or through India, said that most of the French aircraft whose passage had been permitted were air ambulances or transports. The Government had been anxious therefore, not to prejudice the Indo-Chinese people.'?' interests.
