MINOR ASSOCIATIONS DRAW WITH AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, Feb. 17. After an unenterprising displaj' .of batting, the cricket match between Auckland and the . Wellington Alinor Associations' eleven played at Eden Parlc today resulted in a draw. Wellington scored 100 runs in the first innings and Auckland replied with 83 for live wickets. The match, which was originally set down for three days, was limited to one day owing to rain. Weather conditions today were ide°al and when Alatheson, the visiting captain, won the toss he had no hesitation in batting 011 a slow, easy wieket. Wellington occupied the batting creast for 214 minutes and C. C. AleVicar, one of the openers, played throughout the innings for 43. L. Afarsliall, who made 23, showed promise and drove well at times. With 132 minutes to bat Auckland started well with D. D. Taylor and J. Bcott but the latter lapsed into ver> subdued batting. Taylor, in making 36, gave easily the best display and live fours were included in his total. In .the last hour of play only 20 runs were added to the total.'

In a spell of iine length bowling, T. A. Downes who bowled 14 overs for 22 runs and two wickets, and H. B.
