Hunter, afid Mrs. M, Q, Pene, the mother of two of the inen whose names appeared on the rnll •pf honour. . ; Following a shorf service c.onducted by the Rev. Mr. Salmond, ;an address -/as'gr-m by Dr. Hunter in whi.ch he ref erred itp tfche tyvo wars this generafion liad expeyienced, and the sacrifices they had entailed: The great sacrjfices of the men who had fallen, and the gratitude 0f the whoje .eommunity to those who served in "the war was the theme of a short address by Mr. Oram- Mrs. Pene expressed ihe thanks of the mothe.rs to those who ' sought to perpetuate the memory of their sons. At the conclusion of the proceedings, afternoon tea was seryed and Mr. S. Kilsby expressed ihe thanks of the district to those visitors who had attended the ceremony.
