LARGE FIELD S ' AND KEEN RACING Athletes and cyclists were favoured last night by the weather on the occasion of the weekly sports meeting arranged by the Levin Combined Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club. Many of the events were very keenly contested, this being evident in the junior cycling races which drew large entries. Seyeral promising junior athletes were seen in action and their running was well up to standard. A. G. Cozens sprinted well in the senior events. This competitor won Ihe half-miie championship at New Plymouth on Saturday last in 2 m.ins. 10 4-5 secs., which is a very goOd performance. On Saturday afternoon and night next the club will conduct the West Coast cvcling championships on the 'Levin Domain and some very good . cycling and athletic events should be witnessed.
