Received Monday, 11.30 a.m. BOGOTA (Columbia), Feb. 16. It is confirmed that all the persons aboard the Aviance- Airlines' four-engined plane, • comprising 50 passengers and four of a crew, were killed when the airliner crashed oh the 9000-foot Mt. Tablazo yesterday. «* . The plane was en route to Bo- ; ^gota from Barranquilla, 500 miles to the north. The last message from the plane stated that it was climbing the mountains for a landing at Techo aerodrome which is 8860 feet above sea level. Rescue parties have not yet reached the scene, but reports indicate that the aeroplane hit the mountain near the top. The pilot was an American instructor in the handling of DC 4 aircraft in Coloir.oia. Among the 20 Colombian passengers was a member of the Colombian House of Representatives. The other passengers included officials of Canadian and American oil companies. The Colombian Government has ordered an immediate inquiry into the crash. The United Press sp./s it is the worst commercial airline disaster in history. The death roll exceeded the 39 killed in the crash of American Airlines' plane in Newfoundland last October.
