SHANNON W.D.F.F. MEETS
The following members attended a special meeoing of the Shannon branch of the Women's Division of IFederated Farmers on Monday afternoon to discuss the question of holding a dahlia show: Mesuames A. R. Mills (vice-presidenl, in the lchair), K. Thomson (secretary), C. Ward, J. P. Allerby, J. A. Easton, G. I Munford, W. H. Roberts, R. H. jCharter, C. H. Speirs and Miss P. I Allerby. j It was decided that a show be held on Friday, February 28, and IMesdames K. Thomson and J. A. ! Easton were appointed con veners, !and Mrs. R. H. Charter secretaryj treasurer, with Mrs. Leng-Ward 'and Miss June Roberts to assist. iMesdames C. Ward, W. R. Roberts, J. P. Allerby and Miss Allerby were appointed to take charge of the luncheon and tea room, and it was left with the conveners to arrange for the stewa'rds for the various sections. A further meeting was arranged for Monday, February 24, to unake linal arrangements, when it was hoped all members would attend. A snecial afternoon tea was served in honour of Mrs. G. Munford. Mrs. Mills, speaking on behalf of the gathering, said she felt sure that she was voieing the feelings of everyone when she wished Mrs. Munford a very pleasant trip and a happy reunion with her mother and father, whom she has not seen for 22 years. As a mark of the esteem in . wfimh, Mrs. Munford; is, d . Rhe was nresented with a parcel of toilet requisites for the journey and the wish expressed that , they would have her back with ' them again. It was decided that . each member would bring to the next meeting a small quantity of fat or soap in some form, which would be made into a gift parcel for Mrs. Munford to take with her to England.
