Received Tuesdav, 7 p.ni. WARRINGTON, Feb. 11. Three paintings recently seized by the Governnient as stolen from the Weimar Museum wero- qiurchased in 1934 by Lco Ernst, a Dayton (Ohioj plunibct, for a trifle. After his mar riage Ernest was persuaded by his wlt'e who vvas,a former art student, to tak the ' paintings to New York, where. several art eritics told liim they were fakes. Mrs. Ernst was still unsatisfied and took the paintings to the Directo • of the Dayton Art Institute, who wa:; so astounded that he called in the F.B.I. to confirm his belief ' that the. - were valuable originais. In acldition to a Rembrandt ,self portrait, there is a Terborch portrait valued at i'000 dojlarand a Tisehbein portrait valued at 120. dollars. The Rembrandt was badt. damaged due to being folded, hnd tlie-' otners slightly damaged. \ "
