OBITUARY
^ MR. GEORGE WILLIAM STONE Another old and highly respected resident has passed away in theperson of Mr. George William Stone, of Toi Street,. Otaki Beach. The late Mr. Stone was born in Wolv erhamp ton, England, 81 years ago. At the age of eight years he came to New- Zealand with his father, William Stone, and oniy brother, the late Mr. C. E. Stone, of Otaki Railway, arriving and living at New Plymouth. The late Mr. Stone was educated at the Nelson Collcge, and later joined the New Zealand railway service. He was stationed at various places both on the Weso Coast and Southland as stationmaster. and also lived at Reefton, Switzers and Invercargill. At each place he made many friends -by his quiet, unassuming and obliging manner. On his retirement 21 years ago he cdme to Otaki Beach, where he resided up to the time of his death. He leaves a widow and ' two nephews, Frank, and Harry Stone, of Wellington.
