AUCKLAND, Feb. 11. The removal of the - emaining sixpence in the pound national security tax early in May, as promised by the Prime Minister dnring the gen- ' eral election, would be done by emergency legislation, according to the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, who returned from Sydney by flyingboat. This was heing done because the new Parliament would not sit until June, added Mr. Nash. , Although it was not necessary to do so the removal of the tax would be ratified later in the session: There would be a Land and Income Tax Amend-. ment Bill and the chances were that ratification of the abolition of the national security tax would be n: ^de ■ at the same time.
