NINE-HOUR DAY REJECTED
AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. A refusal to aceept the Auckland City Council's recent proposal to work a nine-hour day, the last hour at time and a-half rates of pav, was the unani inous decision of a stop-work meetinc today of about 400 labourers, drivers, carpenters, and otlier empljyees of the city council. The decision will uot restrict what the meeting described p> legitimate overtime in emergeucies and so on.
