MANY FACTORIES FOR N.S.W.
Received Sundav, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 8. Overseas coiupanies would establish 22 new factories in New South Wales, said the Minister for Industry, Mr. Hamilton Knight. Oue company wo.uld invest £3,000,000 to establish its factory and other sunis ra,nging from £50,000 to £1,000,000. Tlie factories would employ 9000 inen and women in the manufactnre of engineering goods, cheanicals, textiles and elpfhing. The promoters expeeted to have all. the factories operating by the end of 1949, aRhough some wonl'd start before then, In addition, Australian firnis have. ostablished 31 new factories in the New South Wales country areas, Mr. Knight •aid. These. facts showed that the State 's secondary indus.tries were expanding rapidly and prospects for con- ' tinued . f ull employment were bright.
