Palestine Jewry is unable to aecept the Palestine Government 's ultimatum 1 to cooperate in the light ngahau terrorism on the lines proposed in tfu* letter to the Jewish Agency. This was ' annoiinced last night by XI r. David Remez, ehairman of the Jewish Nation ! al Council at a plenary session of tlucouncil attended by 70 delegates from all parts of Palestine. Mr. Itemez de i elared that the Jewish eommunity would never accept the demand to hand ' over terrorists to the authorities. They would not turn "informer". He also denouneed the implied threat of pres sure contained in the ultimatum. "We have seen terror in many countries hui never has such an ultimatum been pre sented to -any people," he added. XUllUviO • Thc- Chief Babbi, Dr. Tsaac Herzoe, addressing the council, disclosed that in a reeent convevsation with "a higii British* personality " who demanded thc J Jewish eommunity 's cooperation in suppressing terrorism, cxplained that this could be done only by the Jewish people having their own government and police and army. He remimled tlu "personality" of Ireland's history and that the Irish people, in the early twenties, refused to beeome informecs when asked to do so by the British Government. ''Britain did not enlisl Ireland's cooperation in the campaign again st terrorism until an agreemenl was reached with tho Irish nation after which the Irish people liquidaled the terrorists."
