PLOUGH WAS rAST YESTERDAY Horses engaged at Wanganui attracted most interest at Awapuni yeslerday nio~ning, but there were few serious trials. All the fast work waa done 011 the plough. Among the flrst out were Flying Ace (A. G. Waddcli) and Persuade (K. Saunders), and Flying Ace was tiinetl to run a mile in 1.45 3-5. P«:rsuade went to the front at the fou. to lead to the straight where Flying .Ace closed the'gap and drew away to. run the last three in 42 3-5. Persuade was eased up over the last bit. She had worked attractiveiy over the lirst live in 1.3. Imperiai lias pride of place in the Earle Stakes. He was worked steadilj over a mile. Early he was not ubove 15 secs. to the furlong post, but he was travelling smoothiy to be home in 41 for the last three, 1.7 for the last live, and 1.20 for the last six. He looks well and is expected to give a good aecouni of himsclf at Wanganui. Langue d'Or vvas sent out, to do strong pace work. He pulled hard and was anxious to go 011 with it when L. J. Clutterbuck pulled him up after two rounds. Prefa (Clutterbuck) was to have gone with Ngakoti (W. L. Aitken), but Ngakoti missed the jump out and Frefa went away on his own to cover six fur longs in 1.22 3-5, the iast three in 41. Prefa worked lcindly. Ngakoti later rau live in 1.5 1-5, just breaking 40 for the last three. Fcn (J. Harris) worked ouce round, being speeded up for the iast three in 39 4-5. Uay Stroller (W. J. Broughton), under a good hold, put seven furlongs behind in 1.34 3-5 after reaehing the three in 51 3-5. Matawene (A. G. Waddcli) and Ited llocket travelled fast for live fufj longs, coveriug the first three in 38 3-5 and the live in ',1.5* Matawene then went on alone to eoinplete a mile in 1.49 2-5.
