W. Ashwood, Mangaore, Sliannou, was married to Eric Athol, youugest son of Mr. and Mrs. Brevv, of Palmers ton xNortlt, Pev. H. W. Monaghan was the officiating minister ■ and Mr. J. Holmes Punnicles played the wedding music. The bride, who was given in marriage by lier fatlier, was eharmingly attireJ in a lieavy cream satin long trained gown cut on siimming lines with beaded ueckline and long sleeves pointed over the wrists. The beautiful tulle veil wliich fell to form a second traiu, was lield in place with a sjiray of gardenias. Her only ornaments were h iiiigree brcocli and bracelet to niatch wliicly the groom had brought back from overseas. The bridal bouquet comprised Cliristmas lilies, carnations, sweet peas and azaleas intermingled with maiden liair fern and tied with satin ribbon. Attending the bride as matron of lionour was her sister, Mrs. M. Bradcock (Marie) of Ohakune, and a frieud, Miss Pat Howard, of Palmerston North. was bridesmaid. They were similarly attired in f rocks of sprigged silk made with long fitting bodices and full skirts, the former in lemon colour and the latter in blue. Their bouquets and hair sprays were in tones to niatch tkeir f rocks. The Bridegroom was attended by his bi'other, Mr. Gordon Brew as best man and the bride 's brotlier, Mr. Trevor Ast wood as groomsman. J\Ir. and Mrs. Astwood, tlie latter wearing a black frock relieved with white, black accessories and shoulder spray of red carnations, received about 80 guests at the wedding reception. Tlie bridegroom 's mother chose for the occasion a pin triped grey costume with whieh was worn navy accessories and a spray of pink roses. When tlie bride and bridegroom left 011 their lioneymoon the bride was wearing a blue linen frock enibroidered in pink, an oif-white coat and black accessories. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Brew will be in Palmerston North.
