RAUMATI PAIR'S FINE GAME
By Telegraph—
WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. Fine but windy conditions preVailed today for the continuation of the New Zealand bowling tournament, the day's play being given to the conimencement of the pairs. Most of the greens were too dry to be ideal, and many competitors experienced difficulty in judging their drawing power. At least two cricket scores were recorded. Cooper and Clark, of Barrington, won 45 — 8, and Cairns and Gieeson, of Papatoetoe, won 33—7. An experienced and capable pair in the Bennetts, father and san,«of Hastings, were given a comparatively close call by their relatively inexperienced opponents from Raumati South, Smith and Moffatt. The Falconer brothers, of Anderson's Bay, had the misfortune to have their bowls stolen last night from a motor car. Yesterday's results in the singles competition appear on page 7.
