SWIMMING CARNIVAL
RECORD ENTRIES FOR LEVIN CLUB'S FIXTURE f . The Levin Swimming Club's first 1947 grand carnival will be held next Saturday afternoon, commencing at 2 p.m., at the Coronation Baths. Record entrjes have been received from the Pahiatua, Red Cross, Woodville, Terrace End. Feilding, Y.M.C.A. and other Palmerston North Clubs. An interesting programme has been drawn up and this incJudes three Manawatu champ.onshipS, the junior girls' 100 yards, intermediate boys' 220 yards and the wom en's 100 yards backstroke. In view of the record entries, competition is expecred to be keen and close finishes the order of the day. The carnival is being held earlier in the year than usual on account of the weather, and another attractipn is the fact that the sports are being held in the afterhoon. Witherow; refreshments: Mrs. W. G. Phillips and Mjsses C, Fretchling, G. France and T1. Quinn.
