For men engaged in nnnt'sweeping in New Zealand waters the wai* lasted 65 days longer than it did for other arms of the Pervices, according to a ruling of the Rehabilitation Board, which has decided that for all purposes the. date of cessation of §ffective home service of naval personnel engaged in minesweeping" shall be June 4, 1946. In the case of all other servicemen the date on .vhich effective hcme service ceased was March 31, 1916, unlesS the serviceman subsequcntly served as a -ncmber of an over seas gqcupation force, in which case his effectjve service is deemed to have started again from the date he was posted to that force.
