Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Datson returned to their- home in Foxton last week after spending a holiday at New PlymoUth, where Mr. Datson competed in the bowling tournanient. Cricket Pitch Damaged . After members of the Foxton Cricket Club had prepared a clay wicket at Fastoh Park last week, juveniles on bicycles cut it to pieces after the rain last Monday, by broadsiding on it. The club is taking the necessary steps to prevent a recurrence, as it has considerably inconvenienced the club. Baby Photo Contest ' i Next week Mrs. Hyde's shop window will be the scene of many happy, smiling, care-free faces, V'heii the photographs of the babies enteted in the Shannon Plunket Society's baby photo contest will be displayed. The contest is open to -all; childcen. under the age of three -years; arid j'udging from the iriterest . that .is . being . shown it is ahticipa.ted .that there wiil be a good riumber of entries. Supporters hlay vpte fdr their choice - at one penhy 'per yote, and the three bqbies to s'ecure the highest num--ber of votes will be the winning eontestants. No doubt mothers, fathers and friends will be busy dufing the next few weeks crganisihg- competitions, small functions, tek-parties, card evenings and such like,. in order, to raise funds for th'eir particular contestantr.
