Received Monday, 10.15 a.m, LONDON, Feb. 2„ An unusually severe snowstorm 3truck Eire early today, stopping the 1 whole telephonic and . tele--graphic system as the^ wejght of the snow caused the wires tovcaliapse.. The glaSs roofs of a riumber.of Dublin factories caved in. Drifts of snow blocked roads Lhroughout the country. Rain followed the snowstorm, causing floods. Britain Still Freezes Snowploughs are busy shovelling chrough snowdrifts up to 12 feet deep in an attempt to relleve some villages in England after a night, in which temperatures again fell below freezing point. Exeter had 15 degrees of frost. Road conditions are still hazardous and the food situation is serious in . the Exmdor village of Simon's Bath which haS not had food deliveries since January 28. . Although the teihperature in London at 10 a.m. was one degree above freezing. point, it fell during the night in some parta of the city to as loW as 15 degrees. A burst water main in the city left the Fleet Street are completely without water. •A cheerless forecast for the weekend predicts fog, gales, more frost and snow and a delay to the thaw.
