Personal Mr. Peter Dawson, in a letter which has been forwarded, considers that ^h^ voice of Mr. Inia Tewiata is "the finest he has heard during his lifetime. j Among those who have joined the Otaki School staff, and who 1 commenced their duties on Mon- i day, are Miss Betty Lumsden, of Te i Horo, and Mr. Renner, of Wellington. Mr. J. E. James, headmaster of the Otaki State School, who has been on holiday in New Plymoutn and Auckland, returned home 011 Thursday after a very enjoyable sojourn. During his stay in Auckland Mr. James attended the teachers' conference, when there were some 240 present. Discussions were very interesting and enjoyed by all. Band to Play The Otaki Brass Band will play at the Sanatorium tomorrow ai'ternoon and the public are invited. Sports Collection The collection at the Otaki A.A. and C. Club's evening sports on Thursday amounted to £2 12s. Otaki Athletes at Hutt At the Lower Hutt sports meeting Miss M. Webster, of Otaki, finished third in the ladies' race, while C. Blomfield was second in the half-mile cycle handicap, third in the one mile and third in the five mile.
