jiii.or ij.Nuo, oan. oi. Prices for Romneys did uot reach liigh levels at'the Hawke's Bay Ram Fair at Tomoana. Top price of 19gns was paid by Mr. T. Davey, Wairoa, for fivc shearlings ofliered on account of the estate of Job Palmer, Ashhurst. Two others on the same account were bought by the estate of J. Donald, Waipukurau, and Mr. Davey for 13gns and 17gns res"pectively. McDonald Bros., Waipukurau, paid 14gns for six shoarling rams from oue of the runs oil'erod on account of Mr. A. M. Henson, 8anson. In a later run from the same source 14igns was reaclied, the buyer being Mr. II. D. Hardie, Waipukurau. The price of 12 gns was obtaiued for six shearlings on account of Mr. W. H. Henson, Feilding. Flocli Southdowns met with a much better sale. A -steady deihand existed at prices betw^^n Ggns and 9gus with top price of 20gns. The general o})inion was •that the sale was a little better than last year thougli there were no fantastic values. Top price was obtaiued for the prizewinning sho-w pen on account of the estate of W. J. Gimblett, Ngatarawa, paid by Mr. J. W. Taibot, Ngatarawa. Another pen 011 account of the same vendor Avas bought by J. Mills, Ltd., Fernhill, at 19gns. Anot.her pen of fivc shearlings went to Mr. N. B. Pawsou, Oingo Farm, at 18gns, and a third pen containing six shearlings was bought by Mr. D. Holt, Napier, for 16igns. Four peus sold at .15/ gns two each containing ffve rams, being bought by Mr._ E. L. Lambe, F^niliill, oue of six going to Torran Station, and other of six to Almess Station.
