WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. Spoutaneous applause followed a remark made at the Parliament nry recep tion to the Anierican athlptes this mor ning by the American Minister iu New Zealand, AI r. Warren, that he hop.e.d the day was not far distant when New Ze.a landers would provide facilities for their athletes comparable with those afi'orded their raceliorses. Alr. Warren went on to say that the new racetrack at Trentham was as good as anything he had seen in the world, lle would like to see the same trouble taken over running traeks for athletes. iiracks of cinders should be laid out in the Dominion aiul every opportunity taken to provide New Zealand athletes with amenities comparable with those at the'disposal of athletes elsewhere.
