Bicycle Stolen Last evening a bicycle was stolen from a garage in Otaki. Mishap at Railway Yesterday afternoon a car crashed into the verandah of the Railway Hotel smashing a post. The car was not badly damaged. Burglary at Otaki ■Wuiiam Johnson, who pleaded guiicy to two charges of burgiary at Otaki, appeared before the oupreme Court at Wellington yesterday and was given two years' reformative detention. Sir Humphrey O'Leary was the presiding Jhief Justice. Otaki Jockey's Suceess vV. Connor, oi Otaki, has been riding with great succes . of late, j and has won among others two ofj th'e big races at Trentham. Connor j rides with fine judgment and is j now classed as one of the leading riders of the Dommion. His services are being eagerly sought, and by the time the season ends he should be well up in the honours' list. Inter-Club Bowling A rink from Otaki,- skipped by Vern Cahill, journeyed to Raumati on Wednesday afternoon and indulged in a game with a leading rink there. Otaki emerged victorious, winning on the final head by two points. The game was a keenlycontested one and at one fime promised a win for the home quartette. On Saturday on the iocal green at 10.30 a.m. a rinks tournament will be played, and already several teams have'entered. On the following Saturday rinks will visit Levin.
