WELLINGTON, Jan. 29. On the tliird day of the sitting, agreement was reaclied today l>y the Oonciliatiou Council which is considering an application by the New Zealand Dairy Factories and Related Trades Emj)loyees Industrial Union of Workers for a new Dominion award. An unexpected turn to the proceedings was given this morning by assessors on both sides agreeing to call upon the president and secretary of the New Zealand Federation of Labour, Messrs A. W. Croskery and K. Baxter, to assist in arriving at an agreement. A joint statement made by the Federation of Labour and New Zealand Eniployers' Federation, said progress made had resulted in an agreement subject to a number of details yet to be finalised. Until this is done, the statement added, no agreement can be recorded. A meeting of dairy faet'ory workers will be held at Frankton Jnnction on Saturday night when the secretary of the Federation of Labour, Mr. Baxter, will outline the terms of settlernent. Appreciation of tie efforts of the Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. S. Ritchie, to assist in arriving at a settlernent. of the dispute, was expressed by the assessors on both sides. \ -
