Fersonal The death occurred yesterday at Otaki of Mr. Thomas James Wilson, aged 82 years. Mrs. Shields, of Christchurch, is at present the guest of Mrs. D. W. Debreceny. Mr. and Mrs. Doug. Holling and child left today for a holiday in Wairoa. Finding of Human Remains So far nothing further has been discovered in regard to the human remains found on the Otaki Beach on Friday last, according to the police. Identification of the bones has not yet been possible. Good Poultry Prices Poultry is bringing good prices in the Wellington markets, hens realising as much as 13s 6d, ducks up to 12s and turkeys up to 2s 8d per lb. Bowling Tourney In a Barnett pairs tournament at the Otaki bowling green on Wednesday, C. Pike, playing consistently and losing only one game, won the prize for the skips, while H. Gow annexed that for the leads.

A Narrow Escape While Inspector Doggett was motoring from Paekakariki to Otaki yesterday morning a large blue gum tree crashed across the road, striking the side of his car. Luckily, very little damage was done, and whether the person felling the tree, or the inspector received the greatest -ihock is left to conjecture. The mishap occurred at Mackay's crossing. Dance at Te Horo The dance and preservation of prizes held by the Otaki A.A. and C. Club, at the Te Horo Hall on Wednesday night, was very successful, there being a large attendance. Roy Lester's orchestra supplied good music, while supper arrangements were ably carried out. Congratulations and thanks were extended to visitors, and to the two athletes who had travelled from the South Island to compete. Messrs. T. V. Cahill and Fred Edwai'ds presented the trophies won, congratulating the wiiiners on their success.
