SHANNON DEFEAT KOPUTAROA Shannon were successful in outpointing Koputaroa in a B grade inter-club tennisi-match, played on the Shannon ourts last Saturday afternoon. The home team's margin was ten sets to five and Shannon won 110 games to Koputaroa's 87. The results are as follows, Koputaroa players being mentioned first: — Meh's singles: J. Ching lost to Mrs. D. Jones 4 — 7, Mrs. A. Hiil lost to Mrs. Higgott 5 — 7', Miss S. Hewitt lost to Mrs. I. Peni 5 — 7. Men's doubles: Baker and Hiil aefeated Humphries and Peni 9 — 5. Ladies' doubles: Misses B. and .T. Ching lost to Miss Nepia and Mrs. Higgott 3 — 7, Mrs. Hiil and Miss Iiewitt lost to Mesdames Jones and Peni 5 — 7. Combined doubles: Ching' and Miss B. Ching lost to Batt and Miss Nepia 1—9, Mackle and Miss J. Ching defeated Thomson and Mrs. Jones 9 — 5, Baker and Mrs. Hiil defeated Humphries and Mrs. Higgott 9 — 7, Hiil and Miss Hewitt lost to Peni and Mrs. Peni 2 — 9.
