Lowry Bay and Flying Acc were the early leaders from Barrage, Langue d'Or, Gatteriek Bridge, Merry Eobin. Gapronella, Golden Bouvenir and Bridge Acre. Golden Souvenir was in front lialf a furlong from ho'me and Signal Offieer, Merrt Robin, Lowry Bay, Langue d'Or and Calteriek Bridge were spread across the eourse. Signal Ollieer appeared Jikely to ealeli tlie topweight but Golden Souvenir responded gallantly and liung on to win by a neek from Signal Offieer. Merry Eobin rau a great raee and he was less tlian a length further baek third elosely followed by Lowry Bay, Langue d'Or and Gatteriek Bridge. Voltaic Beat Yasda The big sprint was won by Mr. II. C. ( 'olli nson 's gelding, Voltilie, wliose finislung run was brilliant. Yasda was
beaten into seeond plaee and he Jimshed gallantly. Awaroa Slroam lost a lot of ground at the start and the field, whieli was travelling very fast, was soon woll strung out. Peter Theio and Whitlev set the jiiiee and they led into the straight attended by Ladv Nahleen, Leigh Barton, Yasda- and A'oltaic. Yasda hit the front half way down the straight and hard-ridden he went down by only a neek. Yasda was two lengths in front of Leigh Barton and Lady Xahleen, and Peter Theio were next. Then Sage King flaslied up 011 the outer and Tlie Stormovik, Ganielita and Clyde Bridge moved th rough and in a great finish Sage King, Arniont and The Stormovik went past at half length intervals. Next homc were Garnielita, Clyde Bridge and Citation.
Rink Finishecl Brilliantly Eink ojiened tlie prograinme with a s[)lendid performance in the hurdles. Six furlongs from liome Ruling Moment and Skvhawk were out in front and going well. Eink attended thcni but lost ground when he hit a fence five furlongs from homc. Chaplin quickly got him going again and he followed Ruling Momeiit and Skvhawk to tlie last fence. Once over Ruling AI onieiil dre'w away from Skvhawk and appeared to liave the raee won. Eink iinishod brilliantly and won going away by a neek. Ruling Moment was a couple of lengths in front of Skvhawk and Eed Glaro was fourth. There was an exciting finish to the Nurserv llandieap and the judge called for a photo before deciding in favour of the little-fancied Bay Fort wliieh hung on to beat Night Sehool. Prince Coronaeh was less than a length away third and Kartikeya was fourth. Bay Fort, Distinetion, Deep Sea and Darius were prominent to the eourse proper and Zorro worlced near the leaders a furlong from home.
