SHANNON PLUNKET SOCIETY

JANUARY MEETING HELD At the January meeting of the Shannon sub-branch of the Plunket Society, held last Monday, the beautiful baby photograph competition was discussed and further arrangements were made. The secretary, Mrs. T. Creagh, reported that entries were coming forward very well, and a great deal of interest was being shown in and around Shannon. A number of requests have been received by the committee to extend the age limit of the babies, and fohowing a discussion it was decided to make the contest open to all infants who have not reached their third birthday. Mrs. Creagh also reported that final arrangements had been made with the photographer, who will be present at the Plunket Rooms on Thursday next from 11 a.m. onward. The committee extends sincere thanks to Mrs. E. L. Hyde who has very kindly offered the use of her shop window for the displaying of photographs for the contest. The nurse's report for October and November was read and was as follows: — October: Visits to rooms by adults 46, babies to rooms 43, visits to homes 11, pre-school children 7. November: Adults 28, babies 27, visits to homes 9, pre-school children 1, The general health of the babies was good considering the very cold and changeable weather experienced during those montlis.
