PARAPARAUMU NOTES
(From "Chronicle" Correspondent) Much sympathy is felt in the district for Mrs. Watson and family m the sudden passing of Rev. G. Watson last week. At one time the late Mr. Watson was vicar of Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Clarkson have returned from Christchurch, where they had to make a hurried visit for the funeral of Mr. Clarkson's sister, Miss Edith Clarkson. The fowl food shortage is so acute that the fowls are on the border line of starving, and poultry figures largely in all menus. A novelty in the way of eggs was laid by a white Leghorn last week. The egg had three coverings each within the other, with just a layer of albumen between each one. The Paraparaumu Athletic Club will hold a sports meeting on Friday evening at the Paraparaumu Recreation Grounds. Much sympathy is felt for Mrs. E. Alderson, whose husband died in the Wellington Hospital recently. The late Mr. Alderson had a stroke in February last, from which he remained confined to his bed. He was at one time organist at St. Paul's Church, Paraparaumu, and until there was a church building at Raumati South the Anglican services were held at his residence.
