Fruit Mofe Plentiful l Supplies of peaches, nectarines and apricots are becoming plenti|ful and are to be seen in most Wel- ! lington fruiterers' und greengrocers' ishops. Early. varieties of plums made their, appearance about two weeks ago. The hlgh prices demanded for strawberries at the j opening of the season have dropped to a mid-season priCe of 4s 6d a chip, and loganberries now bring 3s a pound. Crops, it is thought, are being sold directly by the grower as none have reached Wellington since the fancy prices stopped. The drop in tomato prices is la.te this . seasoh, and they are., still selling at from 2s 6d to 3s 6d a pound for first quallty.
