CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 2(5. Sir Thomas Hunter, of Wellington, "who has beeu Vice Chancellor of the TJniversity of Kew Zealand sinee 1929, tendered his resignation to the Senate yesterday afternoon. The Chancellor (Mr. Justice Smith) said that the university owed a great Jebt of gratitude to Sir Thoraas Hunter. ,
He had given distinguished service as Priucipal of Victoria University Collego, as a leader in adult education, and 011 the Senate wliere his oftice required his attendance at many conimittees. He had also reorganised the university oftice. The Chancellor moved a resolution recording appreciation of Sir Thomas Hunter 's exeeptional ability and devotion to duty and his conspicuously successful administration of university affairs.
