NEW TICKET ISSUER
xY new totalisator ticket issuing machine was reccntly demonstrated to interested persons in Wellington and Palmerston North. The machine is a nnilti-valuc issucr. it issues tickets of mere than one denomination. The machines on order will be arranged to issue tickets having values of 10s, £1 and £5. It is claimed that this feature increases considerably the speed al wliich tickets cau be soid and it eliminates the necessity of i'orming separate queues at the selling windows for tickets of dill'erent values. The machine is also designed to issue tickets for both "win" and "place" pools, while provision can also be inadc to issue ' ' doubles" tickets as well. A coinpetont operator can issue tickets at the rate of one a secoud. The -machine is operated electrieally aiul no effort is required from the operator, who prosses a series but tons similar to a' cash rcgister. The machine is equipiied to issue tickets for. up to 29 runners.
