Voltaie was also seen to advantage over the same distance, while smart sprints were credited to Duplieity "and Tlieiolyn.t Conditions were perfeet, and fast work was carried out on the course proper, with the pegs out 30 feet, and the plough. On the plough, Specialist (Garth) md Filature (Jenkins) sprinted lialf a mile nicely in 53sec. According to hcr trainer, Filature is an unlikely starter lu the Pencarrow Handieap on Baturlay. Oramond Bav (Olutterbuck) was not lurjied over seven furlongs in 1.30, rhe Douro Cup candidate Persuade (Saunders) had plenty in reserve while jovering seven furlongs in 1.35 3-5, the last three furlongs taking 40 4-5sec. 3he looks well, and did not have the best of the running in her engagement 3n the first day at Trentham. Winning Ticket (Sellars) finished a shade too well for Newel Post (Christensen) over a mile in 1.40 1-5, the last three furlongs being run in 40 4-5sec. Yasda (Broughton) completed his task by striding over the last three furlongs in 42 2-5sec. He looks in great order after his racing and should strip an . sven better horse the next time out. Improving Novice. Nighthena (llout; and Ecstasy (Clutterbuck) did not impress while gettiug to the end of six furlongs in 1.21 1-5. Arctio Circie (Amey) demonstrated that he is on the improve by defeating, Cinereous (Harris) over five furlongs in 1.0. . Accompanied by Arco (Se'llars), thc Wellington Cup caudidatcs Broiefield (Broughton) and Langue d'Or (Jenkins) were sent over a mile. Hltting out very freeiy Broiefield made the pace from Arco, with Langue d'Or a couple of lengths away. Although Langue d'Or fiuished in characteristic style over the final stages he failcd to get 011 terms with Broiefield, who was still travelling well to eonipiete the j'ourney in 1.45, the„ last three furlongs being cut out in 39 4-5sec. Arco tired in the iinal furlong to finish a coupiu of lengths behind his companions. Prince Wanaka (Collins) beat Flirtatious (Aitkeu) over seven furlongs in 1.34 3-5, the last three requiring 42soc. Czarina (Boreham) and lied Foii (Olutterbuck) did not please while coyering six furlongs in 1.22 2-5, both stopping over the final stages. Gay Stroller (Broughton) went in his usual eft'ortless style while running five furlongs in 1.5. Matavveno (Broughton) and Flak (Boreliam) finished on terms at the end of a mile in 1.50, the last three furlongs occupying 41 3-5sec. Ngakoti (Collins) proved too speedy for Balcairn (Aitkeu) over half a mile in 52 2-5see. Indira (Bowuess) was not troubled to -run five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. Ciucture (S. Blanket alvvays had the qioasure of his companion, who appeared to be very tender in front. Although he was inclined to jump carefully, Iiink (Chaplin) finished clear of Greek Dancer (Kouse) in a schooling bout over four hurdles.
