M. AURIOL ELECTED FROM SIX CANDIDATES Received Friday, Noon. PARIS, Jan. 16. M. Vincent Auriol has been elected President of France. The balloting for President was held in the Palace of Versailles, when about 800 members of the two4 iegislative bodies were in joint session. The ftames of six candidates were submitted, including two "freak" candidates— -M. Ferdinant Loppe, well-known figure in the students' quarter of Paris, who has been a candidate at every presidential electioh for the last twenty years, and a radiologist, Dr. Edmond Dubois, former Parliamentary candidate. The other candidates were the Socialist, M. Auriol, the M.K.P. memlbOr, M. Champetier Deribes, the Radicai, M. Jules Gasser, and also M. Michael Clemenceau. The result was decided &by an absoltite majority of the votes east. I
