TILDEN SENTENCED TO ROAD GANG WORK

Received Friday, Noon. LOS ANGELES, JAN. 16. Superior Judge Scott sentenced the tennis champion, William Tilden, to nine months labour with a road gang for contributixig to the delinquency of a fourtcen-year-old boy. Judge Scott reminded Tilden that he had been an idol to thousands, who did not expect such a thing from a man so prominent. Tilden was placed on probation for five years under the care of a competent psychiatrist after finishing his road gang work.
