SHANNON BOWLING CLUB
GENERAL MEETING A general meeting of the Shannon Bowling Club was held in the supper room of the Druids' Hail last wcek. The president,- Mr. A. R. Mills, occupied the chair and about 15 members were present. Following a discussion with regard to the hoiding of club tournaments, it was decided that a committee be formed to draw up tournaments and a roster of weekly games. On the motion of Mr. E. Thorne, Messrs. I. Ilemmingsen, A. F. Birss, E. Hook, A. R. Miils and V. J. Bateman were appointed to be the programme committee. Mr. C. M. Cronquest moved that ■stewards be appointed to deal with all matters arising on playirig days. This motion was carried and Messrs. Hemmingsen, R. Hook, J. A. Roach and L. Hook were appointed stewards. The club's financial position was discussed and members were requested to bring for ward ideas for the increasing of the club's assets. A suggestion that the club should provide a coach for the instruction of new members met with the approval of those present, and on the motion of Mr. Hemmingsen, Mr. E. Thorne was appointed to that position. With reference to the draw of players on club days, it was agreed that in order to assist the committee the names of all players should be in the box ready for the draw at 1.40 p.m. on playing days. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair.
