Received. Thursday, 11 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 15. The Russian newspaper Pravda deelared that Mr. Bevin had "renounced" the twenty - year friendship treaty between Britain and Russia. Mr. Bevin's foreign policy did not include a consistent iine of co-operation and friendship not only with the United States, but also with Russia, which evoked doubt and anxiety in the minds of many ordinary men in Britain. The newspaper said that Mr. Bevin had stated in a br-oadeast on ■ Deeember 22 that Britain was not • fcying herself to anybody. Had he ■ forgotten that Britain was linked ■ with Russia by a treaty providing 1 for the common struggle against Germany during the war and post- : war co-operation and mutual aid? 1 ■ A Foreign Office spokesman said chat Mr. Bevin's sentence was taken cut of its context to make debatLng points of what he was dealing with. The allegations that Britain was tied to American policy did not mean that Britain would not stand by her treaty obligations. That would be wholly at variance with *-he fgcts.
