WEEKEND ACTIVITY
Ideal bowling weather prevailed over the weekend and there was a very good muster of members on the green. On Saturday a club tournament was held, some twenty players taking part. Four teanis qualified for the semi-finals and in ohe play-off Thorne, Bateman and Batt met Norris, Karena ana Downes, the former team proving the winners. On Sunday a rinks tournament was held, there being visitors present from Palmerston North, Foxon and Levin. The president of the club (Mr. A. R. Mills) extended a welcome to the visitors and hoped they would enjoy an excellent day 011 the green. Some very interesting games were played and in the hnals Hepburn (s) McMillan, Paterson and Evans, of Foxton defeated C. Hook (s) , S. Morrison, E. Hook and Knight 6 — 4. The ladies of the Croquet Club were in good attendance over the weekend and some enjoyable games were played. The ladies entertained the bowling club members at afternoon tea on Saturday, and again on Sunday when the tournamet was held.
