NO STOPWORK MEETINGS
DAIRY FACTORY EMPLOYEES • HAMILTON, Jan. 13. No stopworx meetings were held by dairy factory employees on Sab ul'day to liis knowledge, said Mr. B. Bootn, of Waharoa, president of the Auckland branch of the Dairy Factory Employees' Union and vicepresident oi the Dominion body, when questioned today in regard to reporfcs of stopwork meetings in Waikato and the threat of a striwe commencing on Thursday unless the report of the delegates who acted as workers5 assessors at the conciliation proceedings in Wellington last week is considerecl favourable hy the union. Mr. Booth explainecl that the con ciliation proceedings hacl been postponcd until January 27 and 28. A spgcial meeting of the Auckland branch of the union was to be held in Frankton tonight when a report on the conciliation proceedings would be presented. JLnquiry iroiii ahother source revealed that meetings of woricers, including one stopwork meeting, were held at two waikato factories at least, ths last being held on Saturday night. It was stated that at cne factory where a meeting was heid the men were hoping that there would be an ainica— settlement of the dispute.
