PARAPARAUMU NOTES
(From "Chronicle" Correspondent) Haymaking is' a time of great anxiety for farmers this year — heavy rains and high winds, and onlv occasionally a whole sunny day. The crops are' heavy, but will not be up to their usual standard owing to the difficulty in getting them harvested. The beaches are still crowded with holiday-makers^ and bowling clubs and tennis coYirts are well patronised. Poultry food is extremely hard to obtain at present, and in consequence eggs are becoming very scarce.
