BOATING ISN'T ALL FUN

INCIDENT AT FOXTON Boating, particularly speeding along in a power boat, looks fun and it is,' but not all fun as more than one boat owner can vouch. One visitor to Foxton Beach over the holidays should be able to bear this statement out. On a recent day lie put his boat in at The Point and enjoyed a run around during the tide, finally leaving the boat 011 the trailer to be picked up when the water receded far enough to enable him to run his car out to it. The wind kept the tide in and it was round about midnight before he could take his car near enough to hitch it to the trailer. And then his car bogged down in the wet sand. Another car was requisitioned and attached to the first vehicle, but in towing it out it became stuck itself, and in the glare of the headlights of yet another car The Point was the scene of iriuch activity. Finally a truck was sent for and at 3.15 a.m. the boat owner got his craft out and headed for home.
