OTAKI STATE SCHOOL
• OLD PUPILS' ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Old Pupils' Association in connection with" the Otaki State School was held on Tuesday night, -Mr. Harold Taylor, chairman of committee, presiding. Mr. Ray Bills, secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting which were confirmed, after which matters of interest in connection with a proposed re-union were discussed. It was pointed out that the iast re-union had been an unqualified success, old pupils being present from various parts of the Dominion, all of whom had expressed pleasure at being able to par'ticipate in such a gathering, one which had been the means of drawing so many .old pupils together. The function was greatly appreciated and it was therefore decided that a simiiar one be held, and that Friday, February 14, be the date when it was hoped, that Mr. Inia Tewiata, the talented singer, who is shortly to go abroad for further studies, will be present. It was pointed out that he was an ex-pupil of the school and that such a function would be the means of raising money to assist him in his work and at the same time assist the funds of the Assoeiation. Arrangements for this wili oe put in hand immediately and success is assured, it being coiisidered tliat- by having Mr. Tewiata present- a Iarge number t'ryni oul.side districts would attend to hear the singing of. this talented young Native. Mr. Bills pointed out that arraiigemeiits had been made in conuectioii with badges for the Associatioii, whiie it was agreed that ribbous be secured for the younger nupiis. A further ineeting wiii be held al an early date.
